Professional Experience: HR Officer at PowerGen, Sonya’s primary focus is Employee Resourcing, Planning and Reward. A core member of the organization’s labour negotiations team, Sonya brings her strong analytical skills to this process. Over the last 10 years, she has been responsible for the development of human resource plans, and policies and procedures, and served as the coordinator and primary liaison officer of the company’s international management development programme. Sonya is keenly interested in the effective use of employee recognition programmes and has spearheaded some of these HR initiatives at PowerGen. She is actively involved in the selection and use of psychometric tools to add value to the recruitment and development processes. Her professional experience also includes organization development, job analysis and evaluation, and change management.
